A deep-rooted passion for Americana
TuskHead is the musical alter ego of Dutch artist Patrick van Zandwijk, who blends Americana with his own roots into a sound he calls Dutchicana. His songs live somewhere between country, folk, and heartland rock, honest storytelling wrapped in warm acoustic tones and a raw, lived-in voice.
Patrick’s connection to country music began in an unlikely place: the videogame GTA: San Andreas. Its fictional radio station K-Rose introduced him to writers like Ed Bruce, Jerry Reed, and Whitey Shafer, sparking a lifelong love for Americana that he now carries as a tattoo on his arm. That spark would eventually carry him across the Atlantic to write, record, and perform in the United States.
Since launching TuskHead in 2019, Patrick has built a reputation for authentic songwriting and heartfelt performances. His songs have reached the Gelderland Top 20 twice (both times landing in the top 5), earned him multiple features in Gitarist magazine, and a “One to Watch” mention on the Euro Americana Chart (June 2025). He’s performed on stages ranging from intimate listening rooms to festival stages across both Europe and the United States, including shows in states like Ohio, Texas and Tennessee.
TuskHead’s deep connection with the U.S. shines through his work with Nashville songwriter Josh Morningstar (known for his songs with Cody Jinks and Kendell Marvel). What began as admiration grew into a genuine friendship and creative partnership. Together, they co-wrote songs that became the Modern Electric Sessions, recorded in Dallas with members of The Texas Gentlemen and released on vinyl in 2024. In 2025, the two reunited in Knoxville, Tennessee, where TuskHead began recording his new album. The record, set for release in 2026, includes two duets with Morningstar alongside a collection of new songs written and recorded during those sessions.
His 2025 album Two Faced offered a deeply personal reflection on contradiction and the different sides we show to the world, setting the stage for what’s to come.
As an official Seagull Guitars and Gold Tone artist, TuskHead brings his stories to life on instruments that feel as honest as the songs themselves, bridging the Dutch lowlands and the heart of Americana.
